Turkey come in 2nd at World Taekwondo Europe
Turkey scored second place by capturing a total of nine medals at the just-concluded World Taekwondo Europe (WTE) European Championships in Kazan, Tatarstan, in southwestern Russia.
Twenty-two athletes, including nine men, represented Turkey at the championships, which ended on Sunday.
Turkish athletes won three gold, four silvers, and two bronze medals.
Turkey came in first in the women’s category and second in the general category.
Turkey’s Rukiye Yildirim, Irem Yaman, and Nafia Kus won gold medals, while Hakan Recber, Hatice Kubra Ilgun, Muhammed Emin Yildiz and Nur Tatar Askari won silvers.
In the championships, Deniz Dagdelen and Sude Bulut came in third in their respective men’s and women’s categories.
